Week of February 3rd!

Monday

We had MAD time today.  We wrote our sight words with our carpet partner.  We read a story in our student book.  We worked on blending sounds to make words.  We practiced writing our numbers from 1-30.  We made Zoe’s book for Star of the Week.  We had art.

Tuesday

We did exercise today to get out our wiggles.  We wrote words from Mrs. Jedlicka’s Mystery Word Jar and then we wrote with markers to check how we did.  We read a student book.  We read that story to our carpet partners.  We had WIN today.  We wrote in our Home to School Journal.  We love those!!  We started to learn about 10 Frames.  We made Valentine’s Day Bugs to decorate our room.  We had music.

Wednesday

Snow Day

Thursday

We had a Late Start today.  We watched the story The Mitten being read on a video.  We had Guidance.  We are learning about what our job is at school in Guidance.  We had WIN.  We worked on making 10 Frames today in math.  We had PE.

Please really take a look at the ICan purple pages.  The words that are not circled are words your child needs to continue to work on learning how to read.  We have been practicing these everyday at school together in class as well as each student has a packet of sight word cards they need to work on that we are using.  Please go through the purple page with your child.  Talk with them about what they are doing really well and what they need to work on.  I have done that in class today, too.  We will move on next week to the new set of sight words and the new unit in reading.  That means 6 more sight words!!!!
