K-1 News!

Week of February 10th!

Monday

We had a late start today.  We worked on our new sight words.  We read a story called Nicky and Rainy Day.  We wrote a story about a picture that was on our paper.  We practiced our I can for writing focusing on our 5 parts.  We made our Star of the Week book for Jacub.  We had music.

Tuesday

We had another late start day today!  We worked on how many sounds were in a word and blending those sounds to read words.  We worked on our sight words with a partner.  We read Sheep Take a Hike.  We practice working on a ten frames in math be making a book.   We had PE.

Wednesday

We played Bang!  with a partner to practice our sight words.  We wrote words using sounds and then we checked to see how we did getting the sounds down on the paper.  We read a story in our student book called Go For It.  We read that same story with a partner.  We practiced writing numbers to 30 together and then we practiced on our own.  We had Art.

Thursday

We did Yoga for our exercise.  We worked in six different centers practicing words, eating snack, adding dice, making words, reading a story or two, and working on the computer.  We had a visit from a Dairy Princess.  She talked to us about cows and eating healthy.  We decorated our Valentine’s Day bags.  We had music.Things to work on: sight words and reading books with them to see there sight words in print and in a story.
