K-1 News

K-1 News!
Week of November 11th!
Monday
We had a Veteran’s Day Assembly.  There were close to 100 Veteran’s in attendance.  We sang songs, listened to the band, heard speeches, and watched a video.  It took up most of our morning!  We colored a flag.  We did Gabrielle’s Star of the Week.  The library is closed for the Book Fair, so Mrs. Foley came in a read a book to us about being kind.
Tuesday
We had MAD time today.  We read two books about seasons called Jump Into January and Every Season.  We drew pictures of what we like to do in each season.  We practiced blending sounds to make words.  We learned and practiced writing the number 6.  We had music.
Wednesday
We practiced writing the number 6 for our morning work.  We wrote at words and saw how the words could change with just changing the first letter.  We read a story out of our student book called Come and See Me.  We had snack, read a book with Mrs. Jedlicka or put ABC in order, and we made a Cat in the Hat At page in small group.  We learned and practiced writing the number 7.  We had PE.
Thursday
We read and wrote our sight words with our carpet partners.  We blended sounds to read words.  We read a story in our student books called Pat and Me.  We had snack, wrote about the day, month, and season, and we read a book with Mrs. Jedlicka during small group.  We wrote a narrative sentence in our journals.  A narrative sentence is a sentence that tells something about us.  We wrote about what we like to play.  We practiced one of our new sight words come.  We had art.
